About Holistic Family Nutrition

Hello! and a warm Welcome to my blog.

My name is Nadia Negro Mueller and I am the Nutrition Therapy Practitioner behind Holistic Family Nutrition and the blog I call 'Real Families Eat Real Food'.

In today's fast-paced world we just eat whatever is convenient and fast. We feed kids something easy that they 'just' eat without making a face. Food manufacturers and fast food places have us figured out and are making a load of money on us convenience-craving-beings. Some ingredients that snuck into our food supply have nothing to do with food, nobody can pronounce them, nor have they been tested for their safety.

Food should be nourishing, healing and fun! Food should be a family affair! Or how Socrates once exclaimed: "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food!"

As a holistic nutritionist, I believe food to be medicine. And based on that I teach my clients everything they need to know. Holistic nutrition is very individual. We are all different metabolically, live different lives, have different needs and wants, and are at different stages in our journey. I am here to help you figure it out. Through interviews, listening, lab tests and quizzes we can go on your healing journey together.

Where my journey started.
I was born and raised in Switzerland. I grew up on healthy, home cooked meals. I went through medical laboratory school in Switzerland and moved to the United States in 2005. After having a daughter and being a stay at home Mom in 2007 the word 'healthy' got a whole new meaning. With just 8 months old, my daughter was diagnosed with various food intolerance's, a list so long, I didn't even know where to start. I started studying the subject more and more and eventually decided to go back to school in the nutrition field. I graduated from Global College of Natural Medicine in June 2010 as a Holistic Nutrition Counselor. In March 2012 I started the Master Nutrition Therapy Program at the Nutrition Therapy Institute in Denver, Colorado. At NTI I graduated as a Nutrition Therapy Practitioner in November 2013 and I am now off to continue classes to eventually be graduating as a Master Nutrition Therapist.

I enjoyed extra curricular training in the effects of genetically modified foods (GMOs). I attended  the Seeds of Doubt Conference in Broomfield in June 2012. In the fall of 2013 my school organized a symposium through featuring Jeffrey Smith from the Institute of Responsible Technology and Joel Salatin from Polyface Farms. I have also spent uncountable hours educating myself on this subject.

I breath and live holistic nutrition every day of my life. I also feel a responsibility to make things better for our children by being an advocate in the safe food movement. Every family has a right to safe and nutritious food and corporations should not have the power they have today.

Obviously my passion are the children. I hurts my heart to see what children are eating today. Their bodies are not developing properly and the illnesses that come with malnutrition are skyrocketing! I love to educate families and their children, they are our future; help a child now - and generations down the road will be stronger.

We have one life - one future - one time to make it right!

Are you in?

In health and with love, Nadia
